Hi first post for me since joining.
Swadlincote old colliery was where what is now eureka park on midland road the shafts are vented and have a green metal fences around them, they are next to bridge garage. The mine was also known as Shoddy pit.

Is there a way to go down the actual mine shaft? Or is it all closed off with no way in ?

Don't know the place but know you're gonna die!, lay off the coalmines unless you have gas detectors!

has some of this thread been removed? not sure whats been said in the replys after my post. Wouldn't be able to access shafts without removing concrete caps.
