On the Warmbac subject, their Neofleeces have to be a strong contender. After wearing a cheepo, restrictive wetsuit which as good as prevented any prussiking and made even the simplest of climbs look as unlikely as the north face of the Eiger in storm conditions, wearing a wetsuit in which I can move both my arms and legs has been an absolute revelation.

That may have been a significant part of the problem...

Wetsuits have a habit of shrinking if left unused for long periods. Pre foot and mouth I used to cave in an old two piece wetsuit. During foot and mouth I wasn't caving. When access opened up again I found that I could no longer get into said wetsuit!

Talking wetsuits I have a very nice, hardly used Warmbac two piece wetsuit (42" Chest) which is a little on the snug side for me (fat b******). If anyone is interested make me an offer.

No Rick, neoprene cannot shrink, it simply goes stiff and looses its stretchiness

Put it in the washer with a liberal dose of fabric conditioner and I bet you a free spare battery pack for the lamp you had off me against a kind word you will think you have a new wetsuit.

Trust me.

Roy,

If only - I am afraid it was a symptom of my ever increasing girth

Well try it, wont cost much and you never know.

Or better still, cut down on the beer.

Hope you are well. Best regards,
