Hi I received my copy of the new C.A.T. occasional publication, yesterday! It is a comprehensive list of the tasks undertaken by CAT over the last 40:years, since it’s inception.
Unlike the previous Mine Explorer volumes which were A5 size this publication is A4 format!
It should be number Volume 7, in the mine explorer series but it has no number at all, and will not fit alongside the previous volumes. In many respects it mirrors the similar PDMHS volume printed a few years ago!
However unlike that book which did not have any colour photos in it, this one is the direct opposite!
Only the early photos are in black and white, the majority are in colour!
In my opinion the authors have done an excellent publicity job, and many Aditnow members will find interesting facts in there.
Well worth reading

I really would like a copy of this. If Mike Moore about, will you be stocking them?

They are nearly as rare as a Cwmystwyth padlock Roy. CATMHS printed about 30 spare; I am not sure what is going to happen to them.

It’s a brilliant piece of work which will take pride of place in my collection. Well done CATMHS!

Hi Roy ,

I'm trying to find out about availability it may be a members only publication.

Are there any others interested in a copy?

If there is enough interest, it might be worth CATHMS doing a limited-run reprint (easy enough with modern digital printing) - PDMHS recently did this with the latest edition of Mining History due to demand.

As I thought, there are a few spare which will be sold on a first come first served basis.

A payment of £12 via the CATMHS paypal payments page will get you on the list.

Note that with Christmas being just about upon us, and our treasurer being on holiday, service may not be immediate.

According to the contact I spoke to it was a members only thing and no decision has been made by the committee to sell the spares ??
Even better if that has now been agreed and people can go direct

I have a copy and it makes fascinating reading, more so because my name appears in it many times from the early days doing things I had long forgotten about and in places I shudder to think about.
