Hi,
We specialise in exploring old mines in the Greater Manchester area.
We are very experienced safety and mining wise and have the latest equipment, gas alarms, breathing apparatus should we need them (not very often thank god)
We can show you some workings from the 1830's to 1960's or you can join us when we visit a late 18th C mine near Leeds in a few weeks (we go there now and again)
A

[mod]Some information edited, site admins have received emails (from mine owners) complaining about some posts that depict entry into certain places. [/mod]

Hi Pace :)

Indeed, we'll have a couple of 'beginner' trips next year - it'd be interesting to see how a Nikon SLR performs in the dark: I've got a D80, but it's not allowed underground! 😉

I take my D80 with a Tokina 12-24mm lens underground quite a lot and despite getting covered in mud it's still functioning fine. The only down side is that it takes about an hour to clean it up after each trip 😞

Nice to see you on here coalboard. I'd echo the comments made above the group is very experienced and the wealth of knowledge particularly from coalboard is massive. If you can comeon a trip then I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
