The SCMC have kindly offered to give us a trip on the Saturday 27th June.

It's the week before the first of the Wales weekends but hopefully that won't deter people from one or the other?

Question... Snailbeach SRT or Huglith? Steve has kindly offered either option.

My preference would be Snailbeach, but they are both interesting places which are well worth visiting.

Snailbeach has a great trip, but there is a good round trip in Huglith to be had using Badger level and Dog leg shaft, If I'm around I'd be up for either.

Huglith also has some nice blue formations.

A timely reminder! I was only thinking about this trip last night.

A trip has very kindly been offered by SCMC guys, booked for Saturday 27th June.

Who definitely wants to go? And what would your preference be; Snailbeach (SRT) or Huglith.

We need enough people (4 min I'd say) to make it worth their while, otherwise I need to give them plenty of notice if it's not going ahead.

Both trips involve abseil in and prussik out (i.e. you can't abseil in and walk out) with rebelays and deviations.

I can't remember the pitch lengths but I think on both trips there's at least one pitch of 30m or so.

I'd like to go.

I've done the 40yd trip in Snailbeach many times (via classic and scenic routes), but only Huglith a handful of times.

Given that that the club have been developing the latter in recent times, I'll go for Huglith.

(but either will be great)

After a discussion with Steve at the SCMC we're going to opt for Huglith, and it is an SRT trip.

http://www.aditnow.co.uk/events/?uid=314

Please sign up on that page if you're coming. I need 4 people minimum for the trip to go ahead.

There is a good description of the SRT requirement on that page.

Thank you :flowers:

This is an interesting mine, worth seeing!! Not too far from Snailbeach either which is well worth a stop-off to look at the excellent surface remains.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
