The North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers is organising a field trip to look at the geology of the North Pennine Orefield and Nenthead mine on the 17th of June. The trip will be led by experienced consulting geologist Dr Rick Smith (NEIMME president) an expert on mineralisation in the North Pennines.
In the morning (9am onwards) we’ll look at some exposed lead-fluorite veins in the field near Frosterley, and in the afternoon we’ll get a behind the scenes tour underground at the Nenthead lead Mine.
Spaces are limited so please email
