Some useful info from SH at Snailbeach. 7 names are on the list as attending, can we have confirmation please? ...

Just to confirm everything is OK for your trip on Sunday 18th May. I have had a quick look at the web-site and note that you have identified a 9.00 am meeting. This is OK for me but hope that it is not too early for those travelling a distance. I do not think that you have specified a meeting place and would suggest Snailbeach Village Hall Car Park. The advised meeting time is such that those interested in looking around on surface should have time after the underground trip.

I note that Mike Moore is also offering a 'walking trip', meeting at 10.00 am and I think that Mike would also expect everybody to meet at the Village Hall Car Park.

I would warn anybody coming from the East and using SatNav not to use the minor 'road' from Church Pulverbatch or Habberley.

We have a club visiting in April and expect to leave the route partly rigged; I also expect to have some help, so we can easily cope with twice the number that you have identified at the momment. I expect to have an SRT round trip to the Forty Yard Level*. There is potential for rigging to the Ninety and 112 Yard Levels but will probably not be looking to do this in advance - anybody keen to do these extra bits may have to bring thier own ropes for these.

* We will be entering at something like + 40 Yards and hence the amount of descent is rather more than is implied by the title 'Forty Yard Level' - the SRT is not difficult but does involve rebelays and deviations and there is substantial exposure, particularly on the 'Scenic Route'. A lot of prussicking will be on slopes, which some find more tiring than free hanging.

I might add that unless numbers increase with only 1 person so far I will cancel the easy trip around snailbeach which is a shame . I have capacity for 12

A gentle reminder....

3 confirmed for the SRT trip from an original list of 8 showing interest.

Moorebooks is also (hopefully) doing a walk through trip on the same day.

Any more takers please for these visits? Time is running short!

Yes, I'm still planning to attend.
