Hello All,

My name is Jasper Mowatt and I am a recent geochemistry graduate (2017) looking to continue developing my experience in the exploration sector.
My ambition is to forge a career as an exploration geoscientist with worldwide experience in a range of environments.
Over the past year I have travelled to Australia and spent some time working with a junior in Kalgoorlie and then most recently, 5 months in London working with Glencore (Oil and Gas).

I am now focusing on gaining more field experience in the mineral exploration realm and would like to ask this forum for advice relating to opportunities that exist in Southeast Asia. The reason being, I am planning on heading out there shortly and would like to get involved with an exploration campaign out there.

I have no plan to my itinerary, no preference to the exact type of role, happy to get my hands dirty, more than willing to live basic and I am full of enthusiasm.

My approach in Australia was to network around West Perth and this was what led to the experience in Kalgoorlie. So, my main question is, is there a Southeast Asia’s equivalent to West Perth where I could head to start my networking?
However, any advice would be greatly received and a couple of beers on me are on offer if our paths ever cross!

Feel free to ask me any questions or comment your email if you’d like a copy of my CV.

Thanks in advance,

Jasper Mowatt

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
