My parents visited a chalk/ flint mine near Sandwich, beneath someone's house I believe, sorry if I'm not being very specific here...

Most recent pics are from Ady. I will be adding more at some time, a few historical views but mostly underground shots of some SE mines. My old albums are put away at the mo and I won't be retrieving them for a while. Photos I link to in the forum are low res and can be viewed at www.wcms.org.uk anyway. This site uses higher res images which I will have to scan from the originals.

BTW if anyone wants "saucier" pics of Pete Challis [see Beast under Coniston Mine archive album] I will ignore his solicitor's letter and post :)

Go on, you know you want to!

Publish and damn it. Or should that be published and be damned?

I am quite stunned at the number of photos Adrian and yourself have uploaded in the couple of weeks or so since you joined Adit Now! Adrian is now in amongst the top 10 contributors!

No-one can accuse Adrian of pusyfooting around while his appendage heals. Sorry. I'll go and sit in the corner.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
