I noticed this item on the BBC News:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_west/8149269.stm

The sheep poo paper co is based in the building by the (now bulldozed in) ground level adit at Aberllefenni.

(edited for type)
Been injured while at work and are not to blame?

Get over it.

Is it resistant to sharp slate walls?

I'm wondering what's going to be best for a bit of underground boating later in the summer - current idea is a plastic moulded sit-on-top kayak 🙂

A nice big steel Narrowboat...

You can now do Standedge Tunnel, 3 miles in 45 minutes, in your own boat these days.

BTW Harecastle New Tunnel has (or had) several adits giving access to the mines of Golden Hill. Coal was boated out as at Worsley but met the main canal underground.

Harecastle Old Tunnel (now flooded due to subsidence) has Gilberts Adit into the mines. When Brindley built the tunnel he first took shares in the mine then selected a route that ran close to the seams.

Which I thought 'a Poo Boat' was refering to the sort of craft I crew from time to time, the 'Lavender Boat' that collects the contents of peoples toilets at boating festivals.

there's a joke here somewhere about creeks and paddles....
''the stopes soared beyond the range of our caplamps' - David Bick...... How times change .... oh, I don't know, I've still got a lamp like that.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
