Hi
I Haven't been into the Box mines since about 1972 (using a much copied copy of a survey done by Bristol University Caving Group). I now live in the Black Country and had assumed that later surface work had destroyed the tunnels. I would be thrilled to visit again. Are there any groups or individuals planning on visiting in the near future that I could tag along with?
Trevor 😉

The forum:

http://www.darkplaces.co.uk/

has many people who visit Box regularly. If you register then it should be fairly easy to arrange a trip with some very experienced folk.

The RFDCC and the Gloucester Club usually have a trip down there after Christmas. If you can't find a trip before then PM me and I'll see what I can arrange.

From Mikes website:
" The first edition was published in 1967 and if I remember correctly is was a quarto sized publication, run off on an old Gestetner duplicator."

Guess who has one!
No answers on a postcard with free DeathStar 6000 as a prize

Busty Caver does have a valid point though, there are at least three species of bat that use Box as a roost.

With a username like that I suspect that personally, I'll agree with anything she wants me to agree with...

Just out of interest can anyone show me where the daylight shaft into the Cathedral is, on the surface?

Have pm'd you what I've seen described as the location. Seems to be in someone's garden.

Its in a field with a high wall around it.
Up the lane past backdoor on the right, bit further on, look over to the left.
