Hello there,
Have you tried looking in the local newspapers. Those for the Heanor or Ilkeston area may well have a photo included with the account of his death.
The Derby Daily Telegraph has the following account of his accident but no photo:
Derby Daily Telegraph Thu 11 Dec 1947 p5c4
"Wed 3 Months, Killed In Pit JOHN ERNEST YEOMANS, a 20-years-old miner, of 177, Nottingham-road, Belper, was married three months ago. Yesterday he died in an accident while working at working at the coal-face at New Denby Colliery. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Yeomans, live at 11, Hunter-road, Belper."

His marriage is recorded also:
Derby Daily Telegraph Mon 29 Sep 1947 Week-End Weddings p4
“Mr. John Ernest Yeomans, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Yeomans, of 11, Hunter-road, were married St. Peter's Church, Belper, on Saturday."

Hope this is of some assistance.

The newspaper report refers to 'New Denby' Colliery which was the commonly-used name for Denby Hall Colliery. Denby Drury-Lowe Colliery was situated one mile to the south and was generally known as 'Old Denby.'
