Nice video, thanks for posting the link - I wish I could have got over to the NYMR bashes this year, but pressure of work and a 5-year tax audit ( :guns: ) put the kibosh on that. Maybe in another life - one free of tax officials and expensive accountants.

But at least I may get down to the Harz mountains for a trip up the mountain on the HSB narrow gauge around Christmas (hopefully with lots of snow), it's not all that far from here

Click on the loco numbers for pictures.

More for the steam buffs - German stuff this time.

I just posted some new (old) stuff in my gallery - all shot a few years ago on two trips to the Harzer Schmalspur Bahn in the Harz Mountains.

Hope you like 'em.

Yes I agree... for real engines indeed, with vast amounts consumed across the West Midlands and North West in modern LMS and BR engines ::) ... We didnt need Welsh stuff in the East Mids tho as we had good Yorkshire Loco Coal to use and some good stuff even in Nth Notts and even here.... you see that Welsh stuff burnt well but wasn't very good with mechanical coal stages... but that was fine on the GWR who had funny little ramps for trucks and guys shovelling it into tenders off coal banks so it didn't matter there.... so qaint!!!!

Just a couple of questions about 34007
(1) how many tons of spam does it carry
(2) What breed of dog gives it a bark ::)

What a great evening shot. You can almost can almost hear that steam plume blowing off, and feel the sting of the smoke in your nostrils. Eeeee! happy days!

Question; Are we allowed to vote for it?,,,,you know...with this being a mining site and all that........
"You Chinese think of everything!"
"But I''m not Chinese!"
"Then you must have forgotten something!"

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
