Bout 2-3 wks ago I got made redundant form one of my jobs - working with profound learning difficulty people including taking them out for activities (Im a student and so hold down 3 jobs). I tried to get it back but to no avail, until yesterday when they decided to call me! I had a phone call at about 15:30 asking me to work for them again, I said yes of course I would, when?? They replied this weekend!!! No way, I thought I want to go undeground, I asked if there was anyway they could find someone else, but to no avail - actually it was more like 'do you want your job back? . . .' So...... I have to work and cant believe Im having to drop out of this trip Im really upset and pissed off. PLEASE can we do it again????? I was soooo looking forward to it and had already packed my car ready for an early start on Saturday. I am so upset and sad. I dont really know what I couldve done otherwise. I guess taking disabled people underground/walking/climbing is good for them, but I WANTED TO COME ALONG and do Youds and the big abseils. I had even saved for it (deisel) being a student etc.... AND had made enough flapjack for us all!

Im sorry to go on, but I can beleive that I now have to work - GUTTED. :curse: :curse:

I was looking forward to all the tight bits, sumps, drops, ducks and rats, but now I will only be there in spirit doing it all in spirit with you guys. I shall do it however :thumbup:

Aww, chears Rockchick; but remember us girls have strength and endurance over the guys - thats why we are needed on big trips and expeds - coz they miss us and cant survive without us :lol: . Show 'em what we're made off rockchick, will join you in spirit and another time in flesh. We will do this trip again soon coz I want to do it and a couple of other trips as well. Will find a date and let Simon know 😉

Watch them wiggle and squirm their way through the squuezes trying not to get stuck! BET THEY DO - Bet ya a pint :lol:

I'll be taking my camera with me, so i'll make sure i catch the expressions of panic when they get stuck! Hmmm, maybe a shot for next year's calendar? 😮

I've video evidence of Simon swimming through dog turds in Dog Turd Mine in Angle Falls Valley (Silica Mines). We swam around around in a ll until realising what was in the blue bags! :blink: I've video proof he'l do anything! Sorry Simon

Owd Git was organising that one I seem to recall, and if it's where I assume it is then it's not on Carsington, and less than 10 minutes drive from the Miners. I'm hoping to be free on Sunday, and I might even persuade Steve Thompson (SUSS veteran and PDMHS newlsetter editor) to come along....
