I've moved the date of the two days that the few of us from N Wales will be coming up back one day to:

28th December and 29th December

After speaking with everybody else who is in the area around this period (Chris, Rich etc.) this seemed like the date that crosses over with as many people as possible.

I think Jones the Slate, Rockchick and me will be coming up early morning on the Tuesday (28th) staying over Tuesday night and leaving late evening on the Wednesday.

Does that work better for anybody who is there anyway and wants to meet up for a couple of trips?

Who's in the area for one or more of those days? I think:

RJV
Christwigg
Edd
Jimbo
LAP ?

If the Miners had free Wifi (haha) I could do a morning, nip out at lunch and see if I have any work to do, then go back underground.

Bit of a pipe dream unfortunately.

Thought maybe something everyone can do on the Tuesday and a wetsuits and SRT day on the Wednesday but ultimately I couldn't give a monkeys as long as I have a beer in front of me on the Tuesday evening.

Given the weather the best bet might just to be to see who can get there, what kit they've got with them and what state they're in to use it!

has anyone any idea what all the meltwater is likely to do to water levels? Will Simon need a snorkel this year?!

I think you might be being a bit optimistic if you're expecting it to get warm enough on Alston Moor for anything to melt!

Capelclough water level would be high in meltwater, but it looks as though the freeze will continue.

So it will only be neck deep for those who are vertically challenged!
