i can make any or all of the days suggested. i like the idea of combining the two on the second day-having an explore with some hot/warm! food at some point, but not nessersarily in the ballroom flats-there's so much to the area it seems a shame to constantly do the same routes!

Staying in Nent over xmas and new year at the fellas so if we're both free we might tag along. :)
looking like its going to be a good winter up there, has started snowing abit already in the last 3 days!

Any developments with this?

Me, Redwinch & his son Harry are in Nent on 28th December and have booked Mill Cottage for that night.

We've met at the same time for the last few years for full day trips (end of Rampgill/Boundary Flats and Barrons Sump) and unless Redwinch wants to correct me we'll likely be doing something of a similar nature this year. Probably not an SRT trip though wherever we go there will doubtless be plenty of opportunities for anyone who wants to bring kit with them.

I'm also going to be about on the 29th.

Weather - yeah.... I was supposed to be going up this weekend, Hartside was closed this morning, don't know if it still is, my friend from Nent says that it's Landy only weather. 😞

I've got myself confused... Are we doing the 27/28 or 28/29, there are references to both 😞 Makes no difference to me, either works for me.

You're right. It says that. So 3 days have been discusssed 😮 27/28, 28/29, 29/30!

I think we'd best try to nail it down to one of them.

Think RC is right in that the 29th & 30th were agreed upon but I'm being awkward and going on 28th and 29th as they are the only days I can make it.

One thing though, the Assey House is shut whilst they are fixing the heating so only Mill Cottage is open which is limited to six beds, three of which are booked for the 28th. Cherry Tree Cottage 200 yards around the corner will presumably be open though as well in case numbers are an issue.

ASSAY HOUSE Nenthead
The gas boiler at the Assay house bunk house is temperamental and sometimes does not work properly. We have recently discovered that the fault lies in the condensed water outlet which can freeze up in cold weather. We are hoping to get this fixed in the next week. We should then be able to take bookings.

Weather today is cold, with lying snow. Killhope Pass only passable with great care in 4WD, Hartside closed, Yad Moss closed(30th November).
