Likewise, sounds an interesting trip.
By the way, Jcam is far too fit for his own good, sickeningly so in fact and the club should as a matter of principle refuse him use of the winch!

He would still probably beat us out, even without the winch.

make the thin ones use the winch and the fatties use the rope.
That should even things out

Get wet and caked in sh!t most weekends, so no problems there.

I reckon jcam could beat 18 minutes, if you can persuade him to have a try.

I for certain could not....

Must have been something of that order, I was too busy lying on the floor trying not to have a heart attack to actually get a timing.

I can assure you that I'm happy with the winch...

My last (and only) 100' ascent (thank you Colonel "There are no more ascents" Mustard) took the better part of a week and left me wondering if I'd like to spend the rest of my life in said mine rather than ascend any further...
Hello again darkness, my old friend...

What sort of speed is achievable in feet/metres/min for a straight forward 100 metre accent, no kit carrying etc.
Someone must have set some sort of record?

Edit: Standard frog set up.

If i'm going to beat 18 minutes i'm going to bring my ACME rocket assisted hand jammer for this one! Might have to lend it to Bri though if he dosn't take the winch up. This country might have paid off its national debt by the time he gets out if he decides to prussik under his own steam!

Well you'll have to beat 18 minutes now or face three hours of mockery from Bri on the way home!

Indeed we might even have to downgrade your knackers from Platinum to Titanium

I can thouroughly recommend the Holyhead ferry arrivals hall if you ever need somewhere to sleep in Wales. It should be a bit quieter by now as well.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
