Event name: Srt Trip North Henblas Mine Flintshire

Details: UCET Have very kindly given up a Sunday offering to entertain Aditnow forum members to a srt and winch trip down and up North Henblas Shaft, The shaft is over 500 feet deep to the sump but the trip will only be to the bottom of the winch platform which is 300 feet, 'Bagshaws level' this is where UCET have been constantly exploring over the last few years and have made good progress. the mine its self isnt really a big mine and can be seen in around 3-4 hours also giving budding photographers plenty of time to get the best shots.

The trip is an srt only trip you will be given the opportunity to abseil down to the 300 feet platform then a guide will take you on a tour of the mine where you can have a wander around take photographs theres no rush as ive said the mine itself is small and can be seen in 3-4 hours so ample time is given should you chose to prussik up and out or take the winch out.

After the trip its customary to nip into the Glan yr Afon pub 100ft away for refreshments as they allow us to use the pub carpark.

Ok then the rules are:

YOU MUST HOLD A CURRENT BCA INSURANCE CARD NO IF OR BUTS. NO CARD NO TRIP IT IS A STIPULATION FROM THE LANDOWNER AND THE CLUB. ALSO YOU MUST BE SRT COMPETANT IN CHANGING FROM ROPE TO ROPE THERE ARE 3 PITCHES IN THE SHAFT.

A maximum of 8 persons only for this trip should more show an interest then I should be able to arrainge one for the following month.

10am start would be good if possible, got 170 miles to drive but the trip sounds totally worth it.

Fantastic video, a good way to keep fit Marty.
I met the 'Henllan' crowd underground at Gwynfynydd mine a few months ago. They seem to really enjoy their underground experience, and make the most of every trip they do.
I have not renewed my underground insurance this year as well as some other financial cut backs, otherwise I would not mind doing the trip if you were making another event there.
