Sounds like a great trip..would have loved to come along but other things got in the way as usual....
Would love to hear if you do the oil lamp trip...
Did this a few years ago in Cwm with Miles....really good fun
and so atmospheric.

(btw how do you go 'past' the crane chamber on E...
must have missed that one..)

Another one to organise 🙂 Our candlelit bit was hugely atmospheric so really looking forward to a lamp light trip

The level is effectively a continuation of the lefel you enter the crane chamber on, just keep going through the water past a couple of slate rubbish wagons loaded with scapped winch / crane parts.

You then continue to chambers 2W up to 6W which is right under the lake.
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Thanks Simon, will head there next time...

Lamp light is really nice, one your eyes get adjusted. It took about 5 mins at the top of the BVI to get adjusted, until that we (me) were walking into walls :glare:

Sorry to be a bit prosaic, but looking at the combined survey, it doesn't look as if the chambers extend any further west than the Floor 1 north adit portal (the lake level entrance) so they are not actually under the lake.

Mind you, it's an interesting thought that you are something like 250' below lake level (i.e. getting down towards level with the car park) when you are down there on E floor.

I would only exist if Simon had a number of different personalities and felt he had to create an alter-ego...

Apologies for my absence on Saturday - I rather ran out of staff at work and had no way of getting the day off 😠
