Simon

Sorry to leave it so late but I am going to have to pull out. No exploring tokens this week after the ME trip to South Crofty last weekend.

Have a great trip.

Cheers

I take it is the car park on the hill along the Amlwch to Rhosbol rd. I don't mind the knee high water trip, but I would only go on the chest high water if there was some really interesting relics to be seen on the other side. I look forward to seing the mine as I have been trying to get a trip in there for quite a while. I am in Anglesey all all this week with my work and the weather has been really hot with the usual breeze.

I've just uploaded a document provided by Parys containing guidance notes:

http://www.aditnow.co.uk/documents/Personal-Album-1/Parys_Visiting_Caving_Group_Notes.pdf

Specifically we will be offered either the knee/waist deep trip or the neck deep trip for those wanting to see Mona mine.

No SRT kit is required, unless we go to see the wheelbarrow in which case a jammer is optional (the handline is knotted). We can decide on the day which trip we're going to do.

If anybody else wants to come along it isn't too late.
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Absolutely brilliant trip with a very knowlagable guide that knew most that is to know about the old mine. The 1900bc workings is well worth seing, and the narrow steep route up to the wheelbarrow is really an adventure in itself. Simon, Sparty and our guide bravely went thru the neck high cold water while 4 of us had a tea break.
Quite fascinating seing that very old timbers in the mine are well preserved as the bacteria that rotts timber is killed by the acidic water. Another great thing is that you don't have slippery slime under your feet as that cannot grow in acidic conditions.
Many thanks for organising it.

Yes a great trip, me-and my camera are both still a bit yellow despite best efforts to clean both. many thanks to Simon and to Olly for giving us the chance to look round.
A first Welsh mine for both me and Mr SL but not our last.
