People this looks like something interesting that could take a few knocks.

A bit like a yashika being taken over by Leica

"Fujifilm has closely studied the current line-up of professional cameras and feels that there is a strong need for a compact high-quality (APS-C based) camera as a counterpoint to an SLR. Using the experience of working with generations of photographers using famous emulsions like Velvia, Provia, Astia etc., Fujifilm engineers distilled this knowledge into months of careful study to create the perfect compact-sized professional camera."[i]

Apart from the lcd screen on the back it looks like a 1960's 35mil camera. Makes me feel all nostalgic. I suspect the price won't remind me of the 60's though.

1000€ according to one site. Very nice for showing off in citys with if you're lucky enough to be able to afford it though not sure how keen I'd be to take it wallowing in mud in some grotty little hole!

We need someone to do something digital that's as cheap and indestructible as the old Zenit 35mm SLR....

Cut my photographic teeth on a Zenit SLR - in fact I think most of my 1974-75 Oakeley stuff was taken with one, then I had a Mamiya 35mm, followed by a couple of Yashicas. Those were the days..... 😞

It looks very nice indeed. After the success of the Olympus Pen I think we're going to be seeing a lot of this style of camera which is a great thing for those of us that want something small but with a lot of control.

I rarely take my DSLR underground any more as the bulk is just a pain. The pictures from my Panasonic LX3 are nearly as good and it's just so much nicer to take underground.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
