Has any one tried out one of these, a Ricoh GX200

On paper the specs look almost perfect for our game!

Now these do look good with the same 24mm wide angle lens as the 8400 & upto 180s exposure time all for around £300.00 (the only disadvantage I can see is the non tiltable view finder).

A bit pricey at the moment so may have to wait a while for some second hand ones to start apearing on fleabay 😉

i quite like the look of this cam as a small handy to have camera. what digital camera thought -

'there is so much going for this cam, great design and handling and a pleasure to use. it performs well and is capable of delivering great results.'

'over ISO400 image noise becomes problematic, ISO400 is usable but gritty.' at low ISO in good light images have low noise, great exposure and punchy colour. The lens is as sharp as a pin too!

I think there is a lot going for this cam, RAW shooting, hot shoe, 24mm wide angle with the option for a convertor down to 19mm, when it gets a little cheaper it could be a good buy.

It looks like it's predisessor the GX100 has similar specs, although is a little slower at processing raw images, this model being almost 16 months old now could possibly be bought soewhat cheaper I should think.

Maybe will have to ask SWMBO for one for Christmas.. 😉
