To be honest I'd pay that - but only once!
At £50 a go ? You've GOT to be f***ing joking !! As for the so-called "specialised vehicles".. hahahahahahahaha. As said in a previous post, bring your own pulley after dark! It keeps the cost of enjoyment reeeeeeeel low.I wish the venture every failure.
Good luck to them I say.It seems mighty expensive to me, but clearly they think the tourists will pay. If it brings a bit of money / employment into the area, that can't be bad thing, both being in short supply.Chris.

The majority of our costs are in the initial setup and safety testing.
My full time role when not involved with old mines is as a fundraising manager for the Fire Fighters charity. We have been fortunate in getting a whole day on 5th October on the 1500m zip. The cost is £40 registration, plus we are asking people to raise £200 in sponsorship (If you think that's steep, then so is the zip slide) All funds will go to support firefighters and their families in times of need. Weight restrictions min 30kg, max 120kg. The date - 5th October - the speed - over 100mph.pm me for further details.
£50 a goI occasionally work with a Bungee Jump/Zip Line company who usually charge around £20-40 per go on a mobile rig circa 1000ft long. The majority of our costs are in the initial setup and safety testing. Once the thing is up and running there is relatively little cost. £50 seems a little steep to me for a permanently erected rig, but I suppose it's reasonable enough for the thrill factor given. As said in a previous post, bring your own pulley after dark! It keeps the cost of enjoyment reeeeeeeel low.I'm assuming the people/mechanisms slowing you down are also not there/not working in the dark? Given the speed that people enter the breaking section on the our mobile rig, I wouldn't fancy doing it. ;D
