odd they use photos of the quarry before a good proportion of the levels were obscured by waste.
Been injured while at work and are not to blame?

Get over it.

At £50 a go ? You've GOT to be f***ing joking !! As for the so-called "specialised vehicles".. hahahahahahahaha.

As said in a previous post, bring your own pulley after dark! It keeps the cost of enjoyment reeeeeeeel low.

I wish the venture every failure.

Good luck to them I say.

It seems mighty expensive to me, but clearly they think the tourists will pay. If it brings a bit of money / employment into the area, that can't be bad thing, both being in short supply.

Chris.

Slightly off topic - but there were a heck of a lot of mad mountain bikers doing the hill trails at Llechwedd aweek or so back! Rather more than were doing the underground tours.

Cheers

Think their having a laugh with those prices. Parents and two kids, that's £180 for a few minutes exhileration. They will either be bust by the summer holidays, or people will be queuing up at half the price ....

Pity they have not uploaded any video content of the big zipper, would have been good to see, can't figure that, surely it would be good avertising for them!!
The management thanks you for your co operation.

My full time role when not involved with old mines is as a fundraising manager for the Fire Fighters charity.
We have been fortunate in getting a whole day on 5th October on the 1500m zip. The cost is £40 registration, plus we are asking people to raise £200 in sponsorship (If you think that's steep, then so is the zip slide) All funds will go to support firefighters and their families in times of need. Weight restrictions min 30kg, max 120kg. The date - 5th October - the speed - over 100mph.
pm me for further details.
Where there's a mine or a hole in the ground.
That's where I'm heading for that's where I'm bound
So follow me down Cousin Jack

I occasionally work with a Bungee Jump/Zip Line company who usually charge around £20-40 per go on a mobile rig circa 1000ft long. The majority of our costs are in the initial setup and safety testing. Once the thing is up and running there is relatively little cost. £50 seems a little steep to me for a permanently erected rig, but I suppose it's reasonable enough for the thrill factor given.

I'm assuming the people/mechanisms slowing you down are also not there/not working in the dark? Given the speed that people enter the breaking section on the our mobile rig, I wouldn't fancy doing it. 😉

Honourable thing to do. Admire it, would enjoy a job like that.

The Zip Line seems pretty well known everyone was mentioning it in Wales met a guy from London who had gone to visit it.

One of my clients made some of the kit involved, and told me what the wire cost 😮

They make the whole thing last a couple of hours I believe, ride up in the one of the vehicles, bit of quarry history and then wwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
