The engine was "hot" i.e. on standby when I saw it, and both compressors in steam, though only one actually working. Both steam winders hard at it, the skip winder being particularly impressive.
Inside the Wigan Pier museum you will find the fan engine has also been rebuilt and possibly in steam (?) - I've got a couple of shots of that somewhere. Need to dig them out. I thought I'd already posted them on here but can't find them now!
