These are my initial thoughts on the Scorpion X lamp. I have not been able to test it out undreground as yet, my planned trips in the near future are all off due to the virus thing.
It came 2 days after I ordered, very prompt delivery.
The lamp came with a charger, Gopro fitting, battery and some bungee cords & cable ties.
Fitting;
I had slightly enlarge the fitting holes (that held a Duo) on my Petzl helmet for the Gopro style lamp fitting, then make a couple of extra holes at the back for the bungee cords to hold the battery. Fitting the Gopro thing was simple, I put a piece of foam rubber between the battery and the back of the helmet, and secured the wire out of the lamp with a cable tie. Result is a good feel wearing the helmet, not any heavier than the Petzl Duo lamp and battery.
The light;
It has several settings from fairly light to 'don't look at it or it will burn your eyeballs out' I wandered round the garden, the spread seems good, with directly in front being well lit which is great as I only had that with a carbide light in the past. On full power it illuminated trees 100M away.
Some time in the far future I hope to take it underground, for part 2 of this review. ;D
