Hi, I have two Oldham Headsets I have been planning on converting to photography lamps but I have instead converted a couple of Petzl Zooms.

One has a black bezle and the other a yellow, complete with lead and the metal top from the battery pack.

If you have anything interesting to swap I'm listening!

Be interested in seeing your zoom conversions. Any chance of posting them up? I'm sure other members would be interested as we probably all have one of these thrown under the bench somewhere. 🙂

I'm supposed to be selling the benefits of converting an oldhams set!

anyway

UserPostedImage

The first one had my own electronic wizzardry in it, cost me about £40 when I had done, plus a bit of metal work from biff because I'm crap at that sort of thing.

the second one has 100% Biffs MOOZ insert (only £25!)
(custom duo)

Both run about 130lumens on 3 AA batterys, mine tails off slightly after a couple of hours which isnt a problem how I use it and biffs seems jst as bright for a good 8 hours and will run for over 12 (left it turned on in the car once, oops...)

the first one I made I cutoff the strap slots so it fit the battery box/stand better, that was a bit of an error as you canstill use the strap to fasten the light to the back of someones leg for example to shine a bit of light down a pitch.

ultimately the only thing that made me go for the Zoom instead of an oldhams was the fact that it already had the articulated mount fitted.

Sooooo, Anyone want two oldhams head sets? never been used underground (belonged to Oldham Mountain Rescue) and been stored in a loft for a few years before ending up in my hands.

Will swap for anything usefull like mini tripods, a book about coniston copper mines, beer vouchers etc..

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
