I shot a quick comparison of 5 different lamps last night to see how my newly arrived Jetbeam BC40GT (16v 4WD Turbo Super Dolby Plus Max 5* Premium) stood up.
Despite the silly name, I do like Jetbeam torches which seem to get a fair amount of respect among the geeks on Candle Power Forum, etc. My old Jetbeam DDR26 has hung on a bootlace around my neck on every underground trip I've made over the last few years and is now mostly worn down to the bare metal yet has always been 100% reliable.

Olight R40 Seeker 1100 Lumen Cree XM-L2
Fenix HP12 head lamp 900 lumens XM-L2
As you can see, the new Jetbeam packs quite a punch. Colour is a bit blue compared with the others but easily corrected in Photoshop. I suspect that this is a feature of the XHP50 LED. It takes two 18650 batteries while all the others take a single one. Cost was around 48 pounds from the cheapest ebay seller which seems excellent value.
Both Jetbeams have a stippled effect to their reflectors which give a smooth beam pattern at a slight cost to their ultimate throw. In comparison, the Olight with its shiny reflector gives a tighter spot - great for picking out distant details but less ideal for light painting.
