Sorry, it didn't come from Mid Wales, it came from my local mine in Flintshire, N Wales - it was the headgear from the Olwen Goch shaft of the Halkyn - Holywell Mining Co's lead / limestone mines. The Olwen Goch shaft connected with the Milwr Tunnel that drained, and still does, the Halkyn mountain lead mines for over 10 miles inland from Greenfield.
Up until the late 1970's, there were similar headgears at the Llyn y Pandy shaft near Loggerheads and Windmill at Halkyn (which used to be the main ore haulage shaft, over 800ft deep, to the mill complex there that was demolished in the 1960's)
