I'm potentially interested in some of these trips. I will be struggling this year to get away much so I'll see what develops and attend if and where I can.

How about that Deep Ecton through trip on the newly restored ladders AR? 🙂

If people fancy coming down this way then there's always Box- with all the cranes, wagons, tools and the the likes of Cathedral it's certainly got plenty for photos... And there's enough people here who know their way around to have more than just a single small trip going..

I would definitely be up for a look round Box if a guide was able and willing.

If you're doing a Mendip/Box trip both Wormster and myself can offer accommodation in caving huts, I think 😉

I'm happy to do something at Nenthead, I'm up most weekends (though due to excessive weather, not this one) so if people want an introduction trip give me a shout.

NMCS will be doing some events this year with guided above & below ground trips. More details will be published as & when they have been decided.
Don't look so embarrassed, it's a family trait...

Ok, to summarise (i think) we have proposals for trips to:

Nent weekend- Big Bash style with several trips suitable for range of abilities including gentle walk in/no SRT/no crawling option! 😮 (Ickloc / gnick / Christwigg)

North Wales weekend - as previous years, one day SRT, other day suited to who's there! (SimonRL)

Photography trip (sinker)

CRTT (photography/inflatables- are we serious about this one?!) (SimonRL/Rockchick)

Box weekend (could also be photography trip) (Dr J)

Deep Ecton (AR)

Yorkshire weekend (Christwigg)

Surface trip (?)

In order to make sure at least some of these actually happen-can we have some volenteers to organise/guide? And as soon as we've got those- we need to start agreeing some dates! :flowers:

A few people had already volenteered to organise (see names in brackets)

As well as organising something in Yorkshire trip i'll be able to lead trips at Nent

(probably more sporting stuff requiring ropes and wetsuits if theres sufficent demand, if theres more call for just 'normal' trips that's not a problem either)

Ok, as the "Photography Trip" was mainly my idea, i will organise it  What I had in mind was an easy trip for photography numpties like myself who need to sit in a chamber for hours on end playing around until we find something that works  To this end, any experienced, patient photographers would be more than welcome :flowers: NewStuff? :flowers: Willy Eckerslyke? :flowers:
I'm happy to combine it with a Box trip or make it "stand alone", whatever folks want. I know a few peeps in the North Wales area who would be up for it, but that doesn't mean that it has to happen in North Wales. I'm not sure that it would work with a CRTT though....if that was my idea then I withdraw it ::)
What I propose is that ANYONE up for photo-trip PM me with some suggestions for locations, dates etc and let me get an idea of numbers. I will then start a dedicated thread to keep it seperate from other trips and get it set up from there.
NOTE: I'm out of the country for three weeks, from the 3rd of August onwards. Oh and weekends are generally better for me than weekdays. :flowers: Apart from that, bring on the suggestions :flowers:

Yup, I'll help. Just set a date ASAP, and I will do my utmost to book it off. Assuming I can snag a lift, I'm all for it, and will help out any way I can... Unless someone brings a Nikon... even I can't help someone who does that... 😉

That's great! The subtle hint worked
We now have "someone who knows what they are doing" in on this trip....it can't fail
I know you need notice for work etc so I'll take all that into account, transport is also not a problem
Leave it all with me for a few days while I (hopefully) get some suggestions for locations and dates, then watch this space 😉

Surely Ian is not organising a Nent walk in trip! 😮

The Deep Ecton sounds nice, I've only been in to Salt's Level; is it an easy one?
