I like this idea a lot. Not all weekends need to be hardcore SRT trips (that can be another weekend) and a big get together over a weekend with a variety of trips sounds
sounds a nightmare to organise, are you volunteering ICLOK? ;)

gNick and Chris. Those sound good to.

I'll arrange the Wales weekend of hardcore silliness as previous years, plus take poijt of view on:

CRTT
CRTT Novelty Inflatable*
Photo trip "somewhere"
And a couple of others

my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

If people fancy coming down this way then there's always Box- with all the cranes, wagons, tools and the the likes of Cathedral it's certainly got plenty for photos... And there's enough people here who know their way around to have more than just a single small trip going..

Anyone venturing south of London, either in a group or individually, is more than welcome to contact me for a look around the Surrey underground. 🙂

Sounds like a good idea to me- there's certainly plenty to see up at Nent that doesn't need SRT and is easy to get at. Although a willingness to get wet helps (just for amusement!)

That would be great Dr J, ages since I've been down that way. I think lots of people would be interested.

The good thing about Nent is you've got several different mines within a short distance of the car park / pub.

Ranging from dry standing height strolls to SRT with neck deep water, thus you're never stuck for something to do and plans can easily be changed rather than being committed to a certain trip.

Likewise - I might join the group if a trip was organised.

Ok, I see a plan forming! 😉

Well I'm happy to take a photo group for the cranes, Cathedral etc, maybe another group or two for more of a yomp around to the Robots, Fan Drift-areas I'm not so familiar with...if there's any volunteers?

To make it worthwhile for anyone coming long distance, could always do a shorter trip to Swan or Browns (depending on access issues) on the Sunday before people head back home?

Time-wise, now my PhD is out of the way...I'm flexible too 😉

BTW, Simon, now I've graduated, can I change my username as we joked? Might as well use this title, in some way! :smartass:

If I choose the first of those two options would it mean I would be considered a bit lame & boring???? If so you can put me down for the dry option (I can get neck high water by being in the bath and the stairs up to the bathroom are fairly steep 😮 )

😉
I went in a mine once.... it was dark and scary..... full of weirdos

This thread is starting to get a touch chaotic.

Perhaps anybody who is good enough to want to lead a trip could start a new thread proposing a mine/area & date? :flowers:

Good point - I'll split it into a separate thread shortly!
