I see gold prices are at their highest for 28 years. Rather a pity we've none left to mine in Wales 😞

There's more left than has been taken out 😉

The $ price for gold is fairly high at the moment, but when you exchange it into £ sterling then you see that it hasn't gone up much. It's the dollar loosing value.

Gold is where you find it

I also have an ex Clogau locomotive and person carrier. I want to drive though. Plenty of wagons still under there.

The present company I understand has ceased work (and their website is down too).

It's not the mine we need, but the money!

Hauling the discussion vaguely back on topic. I assume as the present company has ceased mining there it means that what gold there is left is uneconomic to extract? Even taking into account the current market price of gold, although we have to bear in mind Manicminer's comment about exchange rate and in reality there is very little effect on the GBP value.

Have the Clogau company simply mothballed the mine, surrendered the lease or ceased to trade?

Didnt Clogau's lease run aout about the same time as Stoic mining's? may even be one and the same?
