It appears that I need to confirm today as a start date to take bookings. I was not aware that I needed to.

Obviously, trips will change and be swapped around in the next few months, but everyone will get on to whatever they want.

People need to book the meals, and in particular the dinner ASAP as there are limited places.

Just tried to book and completed the form only to be told it couldn't be processed because of insufficient supplies of mixed berry roulade

Gets the prize for most original error message ;D

Going out now, I'll try again later 🙂

Oddly I got the same error with lemon cheesecake.
It works if you don't have the pudding - the sacrifices we must make 😞

Can someone explain in a nutshell how it all works for a NAMHO newbie 😉 is it possible to just attend the trips? Are there any prerequisites? Would also be interested in viewing the stalls / exhibits. Cheers

You do whatever you want but have to book onto the trips.
As the lectures are on Saturday and Sunday along with the trips its impossible to do both, but a half day trip could enable attending the lectures on the other half.

You will need BCA membership for insurance or a temporary membership of SCMC which includes this, we are just sorting this out.

Exhibits and stalls are all in, wonder where you will.

Only thing is trips will be changed about according to the interest but I aim to ensure that everyone gets on whatever they want.

The delegate fees cover event expenses and any surplus will be spent at Cwmystwyth

I've fixed this now. I mis-keyed that only 05 people could have desserts instead of 95 people. If you are one of those who wanted a dessert but couldn't book it, you should be able to now. Any other quirks, it would be helpful to send me a message direct as I don't, as a rule, read Aditnow. Nigel ([email protected])

Are trips on Thursday, Friday and Monday down to delegates to arrange for themselves, or will they be organised as led groups?
I was hoping to do two full days of lectures and a few trips on the other days.

A bit of both.
I plan on taking an early bird on Thursday afternoon, location under consideration, as is another of my leaders. But we have no way of knowing demand as we are breaking new ground on this event.

I am considering a few trips that will be 'semi led', basically straightforward mines with no deep water or SRT whereby trips will run say every hour on the hour, with delegates free to wonder after the conducted tour.

I expect a large number and am lucky with the location and intend to play the cards I have to the best advantage of my delegates.

I have good memory of the Morwellham NAMHO when a dedicated group of leaders got about 35 delegates through Devon Great in a single day, and that with multiple SRT pitches.

There will be an all day Friday Cwmystwyth Lefel Faw with David James and me giving talks in the mine, the 'Friday Underground lecture program', him on the geology and me on the underground works and challenges involved. Probably a concurrent skipway SRT so you can see the silly buggers on their ropes,

In short Peter, turn up in time for the Thursday pm trip, take your pick for Friday and Monday, and enjoy the lecture program Sat and Sun.

Breaking

The short term club membership for temporary insurance is limited to 10 delegates. If people start missing out there may be a discounted full membership available, but cost a bit more.

Early arrivals
There are two Thursday afternoon trips already, one with me the other with Ioan Lord. More incentive to go for the five days, so I expect to see people from Scotland, Cornwall and Timbuktu.

Roy, Is there any trips running at the weekend or just lectures? And will there be a trip schedule up soon? Cheers.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
