Bookings are now open for the National Association of Mining History Organisations (NAMHO) Conference 2017, to be based around Godstone, Surrey, UK over the weekend of 23-26th June 2017. A lively and exciting weekend of underground trips, lectures and social events, hosted by the Wealden Cave & Mine Society, in their 50th anniversary year, so do come and help us celebrate!

Goodness me, the bookings are coming in thick and fast, which is excellent.

There are now additional spaces available on the trips which were already fully booked - namely The White Cliffs of Dover and Bedlams Far East trips, so if you were disappointed, go back and amend your booking to get a space. We can lay on more trips if the numbers continue to come in at this level, so don't fret.

Looking forward to seeing so many familiar and new faces.

There are two options for the celebration dinner. Hog roast with all the trimmings and pud, or a vegetarian option with all trimmings and pud.

The NAMHO conference is coming soon, and we're really looking forward to welcoming delegates to the South East. We're all ready and have our fingers crossed for fine weather.

I just wanted to let everybody in the London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex areas know that both the Starless River equipment shop and Moore Books will be there with us for the weekend.

This is a rare opportunity to collect things locally, so if there's something particular you'd like them to bring with them for you to look at, please contact them in advance to ensure they put one in their vans. Tony and Ursula of Starless River say especially if you want wellies or Etche canyon boots, advance notice is good to get the right sizes. And you can save postage costs on Mike's books by ordering in advance and nipping over to near junction 6 of the M25 to collect them.
