The website has just been launched http://www.namhoconference.org.uk/  apart from a good selection of talks, there is an excellent programme of surface and underground tours. These include Winch trips into Snailbeach, trips into Huglith, Scott Level and Crickheath Mine (normaly locked due to being an important Bat Roost)

You don't need to be a member of a NAMHO Organisation to join in the fun but BCA insurance is a requirement however for a small fee 17 days cover is included in the package.

Of the talks, well known figures such as George Hall, Roy Fellows, Simon Hughes, Simon Chapman, Ivor Brown, Dave Linton plus a number of thers still to be confirmed

Trips will fill quickly so get your bookings in early, all the details are shown on the website

Tony Seddon of Starless River http://www.starlessriver.com/shop/  have confirmed they will have a stand for all your gear requiorements and we are waiting confirm other traders too

Hope to see you all there

Mike

Sorted. I really need to sort out some auto-linking code. I've written it, just not added it yet.

Thanks for posting the info Mike.

Sounds like an interesting trip list.
How much of a battle for places is there normally? Can you generally get on your choice of trips or do they sell out (for want of a better phrase) quite quickly?

Trips do fill quickly so sooner you book the better, once oversubsribed additional visits may be added

The underground SRT and winch trips usually go fast so get your name down now if you want to do them during the main weekend.

Adrian is correct we have however extended the programme into the following week to allow repeats of certain trips, this will allow time to attend other parts of the event such talks particularly where there are some very well known guest speakers such as DAVE LINTON and not to be missed

He's a sensitive soul I'm told who would prefer delegates to go on all the exciting trips rather than listen to his talk. Although now he is famous I'm sure many will give up the chance of a winch trip into the lower reaches of Snailbeach 😉

Myself and my daughter will be there, sent off the form yesterday.

Last year was excellent, as was 2009 in Matlock and the first one I went to in 2007 at Morwhellam (unfortunately didn't make it to Scotland in 2008 😞 )

The conference isn't just about trips remember there are some great talks and surface walks are also an alternative, if we have enough leaders other visits maybe added, just keep sending the bookings and as demand happens we will try and supply

According to Andy there are still plenty of trips available.

Please don't be too unkind to our speakers I have had to do some real grovelling to ensure some have come along.

I am still waiting for Graham Isherwood to respond I'm not sure what level of groveling he needs to be persauded??

I'll save my tomatoes for Roy then. Unless Tony Oldham is coming!

The organising committee had a meeting last night although some trips are getting close to being fully booked there are still plenty of spaces on on the winch trip into snailbeach on saturday and monday, qadditional places may be made available on other trips.

We noiw have a very strong line up of speakers - the likes of George Hall who tells us he is now 86 and he will also be leading a walk around the Grit Mines this is an opportunity not to be missed

Mike

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
