A new event has been added to the Events page.
Event name: Brownley Hill TripDate & time: 13/06/2010 at 10:00Details: A round trip through Brownley Hill mine taking in the High Level and Jug Vein amongst others. Brownley Hill is a very extensive mine in Nenthead which was worked for lead and zinc.
The trip is fairly committing involving crawls through shale passages, straightforward SRT pitches and a splash of water here and there, retiring to the Miners afterwards for a pint or two.
Time permitting, diversions into interesting stopes and workings along the way should be possible.
The main features of the route are thoroughly documented in the excellent WCMRG memoirs on the AN Brownley page.
SRT kit and ability to use it is essential, as probably are a pair of kneepads.
A long day underground should be expected.
