Dates are thin on the ground, looking at October now. Its an awkward case of seeing who is available when.

Insurance is required.

Simon, can this thread be thrown into the unrestriced forum?

Snailbeach lead mine is an awesome place and the stopes are huge. If I am free on the date I would love to go back and take some photos.

well i cant do sept ether but anytime in october bar the 19th/20th is good for me, though it is dependent on getting a lift at least from the nearest train station (from the south west preferably though if anyones going!)

Ferret, If the trip goes ahead, i can pick you up from either Rugby or Coventry stations, if of course its any use to you!

I presume it was a member of the SCMC you spoke to?

Let me know when you end up doing this - I've been in Snailbeach loads with the club but it would be good to meet other members of the forum!

Barney spoke to Steve H, I believe. He was considering a round trip to the 40 yard level using the "classic" and "scenic" routes. I wouldn't mind coming along (if free) to meet others on the forum.

(the 40yd level is measured from the day level, access is higher up the valley at perkins level)

Looking at doing this in the new year, around March hopefully. Had a problem with short notice dates etc. What i intend to do is arrange a date with plenty of notice then hope we get enough interest.
From memory then, the following are pencilled in....

I would like to come along on this but if there's very many people wanting to go along, I'm happy enough to drop out! Like I say, I can pretty much go whenever and don't want to deny anyone who hasn't beem there the chance to see it!

Relax Cat_Bones, From what i was told, the prefered method is to have 2 groups, starting at each end and passing in the middle. So there should be room for a few folk. Is this what you have done before? how many were in your group(s)?

I've just been down the classic route in one group that I remember. 4 or 5 in a group maybe... don't know what the maximum would be though!

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
