MrMike
with reference to the shaft you refer to in the mine description.
Save yourself some minor work and lots of kit cleaning and don't bother!
Shaft is quite short but with a few old rails in the bottom stickin up like arge Punji sticks, there are two ways off it, one to small to get in and heads to the burn, the other is about 18inches high but full of ochre sludge, not pleasant and not big enough to get in and make it worth it ๐Ÿ˜ž

I am particularly biased against this little shaft, its the one where I had a harness strap break just as I abseiled under the sleepers.
Focus's the mind rather sharply it does ๐Ÿ˜ฎ , SRTing back up even a very short shaft with only one leg strap on your harness makes you feel very lopsided!
