Hello everybody have read the information about this site was just wondering if anybody could say how long it takes to walk to tramway system here as I am interested in doing it .

How long it would take would depend on if I visited or not as if it’s only very short sadly I would not travel up for this en less their was also other interesting things to see !

Obviously keys would be needed I am sure to gain access for the tunnel , so help with this or if the key holder is on the site even better would like to chat to people who have been here many thanks Thomas

As far as I know there is no access to the tunnel that runs under New Hall approach towards Overton and Emroyd common. The main remains of this railway, are the ancient Viaduct near Lane End Colliery Flockton the Tunnel (Collapsed) mentioned before, the line of the railway along the top of Emroyd common, then it went down into Emroyd itself. You can pick it up again at Smithy Brook and not sure about access but it follows the slight valley to Horbury bridge,. If you look on my ADITNOW page there is a map giving the line of it.

Hi again Thomas, the one I think you mean is the Caphouse/ Hope Pit/ Calder Grove line. The Portal is at the Hope end of Caphouse, and as far as I am aware it is used as a loco storage point. But the Museum may be able to give you access..
