The site is now largely built, stable and running nice and fast, but I've got a few outstanding bits and bobs to finish:

- Display glitches, need to fix a few problems with white space appearing

- Tool to allow the image shown against an album to be changed

- Batch upload

I've been toying with a few other features for a while:

- Following Mountainpenguin's descipriton of the UK Climbing log book, I could do a simple calendar function allowing meet ups to be arranged between members, shared and for others to tick off whether they're attending

- Gear reviews, been meaning to add these for ages, idea would be designated gear reviewers could add these

The last two will take a while to build, and so I wondered if there was any feedback or suggestions realting to these. I don't want to build what is of no use or likely to be of no use to the vast majority of people.

Gear review would be well worth the effort.

Re White spaces:-

I have noticed recently that virtually no one now puts a location or any other info on their profile when they join. I wonder if this could be because the page appears to end before that part of it becomes visible. May be as a temporary fix a note could be added to the page under the address book phone number bit teling people to scroll down? Pending the bug being sorted.

John - I'm not convinced that's the problem! I think it may just be laziness on people's behalf!

I've tested the Profile page in three different browsers and I suspect it merely depends on how big your screen that might make it appear that the 'Address Book' section is lowest bit of the page. In some browsers the block below is visible, in some it isn't and the space can give the impression of that being the lowest part of the page.

Obviously if you scroll down, it's clear that there's a profile that can be added.

I guess the easy solution would be to have the page re-organised so that the Profile is above the account information, on the basis that someone is more likely to update their profile than their account details?

That is also probably true.

Although I must confess I was looking to update my profile a few days ago and couldn't find it (dumb I know!). As I had to scroll down some way beyond the boxes on the left (which are way beyond the address book etc bits anyway).

This may be the Internet Explorer 6 issue that the webmaster mutters about?

I've added the batch upload tool, people had been asking for it for a few weeks so I thought it worth adding at this stage.

It allows you to upload between 1 and 20 images at a time (any more I felt would take too long in one upload).

If you use the batch upload then in order to maintain the relevance of the site in terms of photograph names and descriptions it would be great if you could then edit the photos (via viewing the album) to add a name and (optional) description

I hope it's of use :)

Will have a look at the album image toggle tool tonight, and the display glitches.

On that last point, and apart from on the Profile page, could anybody who is getting white space reply here to say where it's appearing please? Then I can fix it more easily, ta!

Forgot to add, to access the batch upload, go to an album, and look for the new quick links block in the top left, just under the page header photo.

Just got it on the last of the Blaen y Cae images uploaded by GrahamI (the henderson catalogue pic. I pressed F5 and it reappeared correctly.

4th to last on Penyorsedd photo uploaded to day. Again, F5 sorted it. Following 4 photos displayed correctly to start with!

Penrhyn 2004/023, 024, 025, all did it, F5 sorted it.

Thanks John, can only fix ones that aren't resolved by refreshing though. IE 6 had a few oddities with the CSS box model, and it's those display issues, where persistant white gaps appear that I need to try to address. Thanks.

One final one then Simon,

Maen O Archive 038, 039, & 041. Oddly enough 040 appeared ok first time!

I take it you don't want any more then?

I have no idea if if its possible to implement, but I for one would find a "Forum Search" facility very useful. Especially as the forum has grown in size. I sometimes find myself trawling through it for ages trying to find a specific post or topic from the past ..

Look under 'Mine Exploration Forum' on the left hand main navigation menu, and at the third link down 'Search' and you should find that which you seek

Can you alter the code so we can see who puts comments on the rating, please?
