Whilst trying to settle a debate about the original Canon EOS 1D, I came across this:

Was Canons first " professional" digital camera. Basically a wet film 35mm camera with an additional digital back, which continues below into the lower body. Using the digital back allowed the use of the 35mm camera's lenses, etc. CCD was 1.3 megapixels, just a bit noisy.
