can any of you guys recommend a nice mine /cave within a hour of coniston not to demanding as Goydon Pot yesterday hammered the old bones a bit doesn't have to be scuba a dry or semi dry one is fine just looking for a nice plan B with the weather outlook for tomorrow( we have been in coniston copper mines many times)

Have a look at the map in SD & NY, any amount of mines within an hour of Coniston that are accessible and dry or even mildly moist!

Some decent slate mines on the opposite side of Coppermine Valley, I think one is Moss Head? More like 5 mins from Coniston.
