The English Heritage Miner Farmer project includes detailed landscape mapping of the Nenthead, Whitesyke and Fletcheras Mine areas. ( you can find the details on the EH website in Research News issue 11 ). The current work is looking at the Nenthead landscape area. NPHT is supporting this work and our archaeologists working for our subsidiary NPA Ltd are now walking the surface. I would like to find the location of a surface plan entitled " A Plan of that Part of the manor of Alston Moor boundered on the east and south by the regality of Hexham....(etc)...through to Scaleburn head currack on the north" dated 1773. We have a poor xerox copy of the original and a better tracing by John Lawson dated 1987. Does anyone know where the original of this plan can be found?
