Hi yes i got down it in the 70s we got the go off the farmer to knock a hole in between the spindle of one of the heading wheels if i remember we got down to a big stope and a sub level with an old wagon on rails well worth a trip the farmer was o k with me but that was 40 odd years ago now ,niklum mine was also open then and we bottomed it fantastic mine ,all the mines had beehives on then, we got down all the mines in brassington in the late 60s and 70s i had a word with an old guy walking over the field a small man bent double with a stick i asked him did he know anything about this mine nicklum he told me his name and told me he was the last man to work down the mine in 1919 and was the land owner and he put the cap on,sadly you can no longer go down this mine his son has used it for a rubbish dump for a long time and knocked the engine house wall down,shame his dad was a wonderful guy ,sorry for rambling on a bit brassington is my favorite place regarding mines, good luck with great rake ask the farmer at the end of the track on the left nicely but don't mention p d m h s he can't stand them cheers Keith .
