Hello to the knowledgeable ones...
I took a very squelchy walk up the backside of Great Shunner Fell, via Great Sled Dale and came across what I presume are old lead mines... but then I could be wrong.
Before you all jump up and down and tell me it's Lane Foot, I know it's not.
This mine was beyond the last drystone wall at almost 500m ASL. There was a hush, three small spoilings, and a well hidden level. Down below in the side of the beck there was also another spoil heap & some shafts. They were not marked on my 25K map.

are the building blocks of rocks. They are a naturally occuring,inorganic, solid, crystalline substance which has a fixed structure. (and some of them are really pretty)
