To whoever has been deleting my account recently; if sir/madam is not satisfied with the quality of my contribution over the last few days please at least delete the mines I have added and not just my account.

Feck, my fingers are starting to ache clicking around and biting my nails wondering whether if when I log out it'll be my last!

You might want to direct yourself towards "Wheal Camborne Lead Mine" and "Wheal Pidden Tin Mine" and consult your textbooks before banging the gabble. There are more locations I'd like to add but if we're in the business of fun spoiling maybe I belong elsewhere.

To everyone else, have a great weekend comrades πŸ˜‰

I apologise for deleting your original account.

And thank you for the contributions.

This site - as most public facing forums - has a minor problem with spammers registering to post junk.

Sometimes they get a post in before their accounts get deleted, sometimes they don't.

The usual warning sign for an admin looking at new registrations is a fake name; thus if you register with an obviously fake name (not referring to username, that can be whatever you like) then odds the account will get deleted.

As per the first line of the registration policy:

Quote:

All user accounts require a real first name and surname. We reserve the right to delete accounts found to have been registered under fake names. All personal information is kept private at all times.

So, apologies, nothing to do with the quality of your contributions, and absolutely nothing personal.

But please do understand that the admins of this site give their free time to this, and we do everything we can to limit forum spam, and that may include deleting accounts with fake names.

If we stopped doing this the forum would fill up with offers of cheap trainers, dissertation writing services and pharma links.

EDIT:

However I did only delete 1 registration; the original one. So you currently have 2 logins, hence why the mines added with your 2nd login (not deleted) are still showing.

my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

I appreciate those words Simon. Water under the bridge.

What most of the bourgeois class of armchair adventurers or the 'oop cuntry' c*ving folk won't realise is that there are more recorded 'mines' in certain parishes than have been added to the site for the whole of the county (or a few). You'll see a wheal-this and a wheal-that popping up soon enough.

Hi Simon & Karl,
Us old ones appreciate the way this site is closely monitored and kept up to date, and hopefully user friendly!
If occasionally mistakes are made then this user would add everybody is human, and must by definition make mistakes!
I often have stated the person has not been born who makes no mistakes, but unfortunately many people have not the guts to admit to making them.
So hopefully this site’s users will all bear this advice in mind, and continue offering insights into their mining experiences.

Welcome to the site. :flowers:
Input and additions to the DB are always welcome, but when doing so, it's worth checking that the mine in question has not already been included under one of its 'also known as' names.
Always good to have contributions to the AN site, and members enthusiastic enough to spend time to do it. πŸ™‚
"You Chinese think of everything!"
"But I''m not Chinese!"
"Then you must have forgotten something!"

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
