Hi Guys,
Was reading a book on Cornish Mine Disasters and in one section it mentions a man getting his head crushed by the stamps (ouch!) at "PINS STAMPS" North Country. Any idea where they were, as Tolgus Tin Streaming Mill is just down the road. I live top of North Country.

Cheers Haydn.

Maybe they mean Sinns Stamps, Sinns Barton is around the North Country area I seem to remember.

Thank you, and you are right "Sinns Barton" is in the North Country area. You might be right with the misinterpretation. More research I think!

I'd agree with Sinn's stamps. Don't know if its streaming or to do with Wh Mary (?) in the fields near the x roads to Radnor

Looking at British Newspapers Online... Sinn Barton was a agriculture dealer in machinery and had offices and business premises at Redruth circa 1900-1920 period.

Sinns was a location name used in this area from early times and may have been adopted as a gimmick by the agricultural trader TM mentioned.

Roy - There's a article on the sale of land including the following... Great Sinn's, Sinn's Croft & Sinn's Common all from the Cornishman 1919
