Hi from N.E.Wales, found site by accident and find it very interesting. Now retired and visit most northern mining areas and have fun locating mines @Blaenau, Gwydyr and Cumbria and hope to meet up with others this summer

Welcome to the site bucyrus man

With your username I'm guessing you are / were a mining professional or have an interest in mining machinery as well?
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

User name comes from being a member of the Vintage Excavator Trust at Threlkeld Mining Museum where I help look after a number of quarrying and mining machines. Also a .member of local steam railway. Just like anything with an engine really and would very much like to get down one or two mines to photograph the machinery still there and maybe help out now & then. Past occupation was in quarry haulage, no mining engineer I'm afraid

Would perchance be the chap I met at Williamsons Tunnels with Len Kirkham about 6 yrs back?
We inhabit an island made of coal, surrounded by a sea full of fish. How can we go wrong.......

Afraid it was not me you met at tunnels, another one still to do, but it could be my friend Derek Foster who has similar interests and used to live in Liverpool and is a member of Williamsons Tunnels
