Hello!
After spending most of the last 10 years wandering around, above and often in many mines I feel its long overdue joining this website!
i currently live in Stoke on Trent, graveyard of our once thriving coal industry but have spent considerable time exploring the mines of North Wales and the Peak District also.
Anyone else from the area?

And hello to "Smoke-on-Stench" as it was lovingly known from one of the German branch of the family - an expat in Teutonia.

Used to live there in the early seventies when I was studying Surveying at Caldon College - first in a block of student flats in Hanley and then on Lightwood Road in Longton.

I found it a great place to live!

Do they still have corner shops making oatcakes? Thirty odd years ago, there were more of them than F 'n C-shops

Still a few oatcake shops, but along with most of Stoke it seems they are hell bent on demolishing everything in sight!
