You're certainly in one of the best parts of the country - I just wish I had a bit more time to get up to the Lake District, I've had a great time up there in the past :)

yeah theres plenty of old disused mines up here i live in whitehaven and have had an interest in coal mines since i can remember,didnt know there was a forum for exploration though 😉

sure that you'll find AN a fantastic resource for all kinds of mine exploration goodness, you'll be extremely hard pushed if you were interested in venturing in to any of our local coal mines though! 😮
but were not short of other interesting mines in the area!
